Summerland Jets Invite Community to Watch Invitational Camp as Inaugural Roster Takes Shape
Sixty invited players will compete in six games over two days for the opportunity to earn a place in the Jets’ founding-season lineup

Summerland, B.C. - The race for a spot on the inaugural Summerland Jets roster continues this weekend as 60 invited players take the ice at Summerland Arena for the team’s July Invitational Camp.
Running Saturday, July 25 and Sunday, July 26, the invite-only camp will divide players into three teams for six games across the weekend, giving the Summerland Jets coaching staff another opportunity to evaluate the speed, skill, competitiveness and character of players hoping to earn a place on the 2026/27 roster.
The community is invited to come to the arena, watch the action and get an early look at some of the young players competing to become part of Summerland’s new Junior A team.
“This is an important weekend for our staff and for every player coming into camp,” said Robert Dirk, Hockey Operations Director and Head Coach of the Summerland Jets. “There are roster spots available, and we want to see who competes, who responds to coaching, who makes the players around them better and who is ready to help establish the standard for this team. It is also a great opportunity for the community to come out, see the level of talent on the ice and start getting to know the players working to become Summerland Jets.”

Dirk will be joined by Assistant Coaches Ace Stewart and Bailey Tamminga as the coaching staff assesses players across the six-game schedule.
The camp represents another major step in building the Jets’ first roster ahead of the team’s inaugural season. The organization has already begun introducing its first confirmed players, including Summerland’s own Dayton Koldyk, along with Sharky Nowek and Kruz Lyseng.
Additional player announcements will continue as the coaching staff works toward assembling a competitive team that will represent Summerland on and off the ice.
